Her gift of sharing.............

She walks the children up the grassy
hill at the park and the youngest drops his icy cone
she gives him hers

She sits quietly in the nursing home
listening to aunt Janes ranting
and strokes her forehead

Pulling her hair over her ear
and leaning down to
tie a purple sneaker
for a little girl

She leans into his shoulder to show
her compassion for
his rough day at work
and listens

She strokes foreheads
little egos
and big ones too

She ties ribbons and bows
hosts birthdays
and sit's at the
wake of the loner
down the street

She teaches all of us how to share .......
but how many of us
really see?

Sounds like a great Mother's Day verse. We know who she is without mentioning her name. Voted up.

This is such a sweet poem. Elderly people know how to share their love of life with others so well. It's true that sometimes we don't see the wealth of that love. Enjoyed the poem. Voted up.

Voted up and awesome. It would be great if everyone could appreciate what others do for them and find the time to say thank you.
