Were it not for forever ......

Some biblical image of an angel torn from
a loved ones arms
Abel .....Cain..is the loss any more
comprehendable?
A thousand stories of death
of resurrection.....vengeance....
death itself is to be
resented
At test of wills ......... a test of faith
........
A test of time ....
a test of the devil
Of the living rising free
"They may be better off in the long run"
in the long run of what .....time?
I would trade a life for an hour
for just one moment to find......
I never found an answer though
that wasn't just a bandage
A covering for a wound
is just that
To cover it just for a moment
a day .....but never a life
Were it not for forever ........
but just a day
Then losing a loved one
wouldn't be so bad
Hurry....hurry this life.......
Lord
I must move on
I must......

One of the most painful life experiences is to lose a loved one, yet we know it's fated.

Cardisa , You are so right my girl! Perhaps its the whole life experience that frames how we react to death , I think that children who lose have a harder time? Do you think......:-}

Loss is the greatest confusion of all. And I wonder if Eve thought the same as you. **Abel .....Cain..is the loss any more comprehendable?**

One cannot choose the depth of pain just the maneuvering past it.

So much here to dwell on ahorseback. I only slept 3 hours last night. i hope I can put this aside for tonight while I rest.

Concerning the losses that children bear, it is hard to say. If they had a mother for three years and are nine then most of their life has been without. They never get over it but seem to accept more logically than an adult.

Hyphen, You have got that right, "Maneuvering past it "....The gods are not fair when it comes to rest are they! Why are you not sleeping?....:-}

I don't know. I tried desperately last night to sleep to no avail. Dawn was nigh when I finally slept and I had to be up at 7:30. ugh

Moving on is perhaps the hardest journey, anyone will ever travel.

To lose a loved one is without the greatest sorrow, but we must live to face tomorrow. Beautiful............

Qudsia , Yes my friend I agree . I think its about moving on and staying on! Sometimes though I go "there " purposely , its as if not only do I never want to forget but it was such a trying time in our lives and in his . The key I think is to not let it be the beginning of a downhill slide in life. Be well Qudsia .....:-} And thank you for your wisdom.

horseback, you are so funny and so correct. I actually got a soft handmade baby blanket last night and cuddled with it. No thumb though. I replaced that with a couple glasses of good vino before bed. And I rested much better.

It's so hard living with the pain of losing a loved one and harder still to move on without a sense of guilt.

Beautiful poem as always, thank you

I think i read this wrong , and then i read your comments and then i know i did , somehow i gethered that people take death a certain levels and some welcome it , some would rather die than to face anymore of this earth . maybe i will read it again ... its a great write , some interpretations can be misconstrued , i think in many writings this occurs ... i voted up awesome and beautiful!:)

Thank you Jami , It has a couple of different messeges for me. It is about loss , but about time itself too. Just a little bit about the reuse of old answers to questions too long asked , a frustration perhaps with keeping faith. Thank you for reading!....:-}
