Hold On As With A Grip of Iron...Hold On

So are the days of our lives...
So are the days of our lives...
sad days
sad days
brighter days
brighter days
darker days
darker days
lighter days
lighter days
days of gloom
days of gloom
Days full of sunshine and flowers
Days full of sunshine and flowers
Not to worry about tomorrow...live for today...
Not to worry about tomorrow...live for today...

Hold On

In these times with toil and in such great despair,

And when all seems so lost, though may we care,

We must reach inside ourselves, and to share,

There to find a courage then, that is so rare.

Hold on, hold on, as with a grip of iron, my child,

For now our lives are in the balance, all's at stake,

No matter what the load, or harm, that's bestowed,

Good results are in decisions that we make.

A world much full of woe, with it's ups and downs,

And everything seems so far out of bounds,

Bread to eat, and basic needs to meet, in the rounds,

Not simple parts so played, this as it all sounds.

We must now hold fast, our success we'll find at last,

For us to make it our success, so we must,

For a victory in this test, we shall use a spirit blessed,

And in each of us our best, we all will trust.

Hold on to the rights, gained in all our fights,

Those freedoms won by men who've died,

Not to fail in this round, and our falling down,

Let our legacies show that we all have tried.

On the road to success, we must all give our best,

Our singular attempts that each person makes,

Benefactors will believe, by such wealth to receive,

Every one not mattering then, what it takes.
