How I Know You're There

Thank you for shelter
and
thank you for rain...
Thank you for comfort
and
thank you for pain...
Thank you for sunshine
and
thank you for clouds...
Thank you for aloneness
and
thank you for crowds.
Thank you for family
and
thank you for friends...
Thank you for forks in the road
and
for bends...
Thank you for lessons
and
teachers who teach...
Thank you for discomfort
that
compels me to reach...
Thank you for sorrow
that
I recognize joy...
Thank you for love
and
for tools to employ.
Thank you for strength
that
uplifts when I'm weak.
Thank you for hope
when
I'm feeling bleak.
Thank you for being
and
thank you for care...
Life is more precious
because
I know You're there.

Instead of reading this I started Singing it!! Do you have a tune for it yet. I do, and I hope you can hear it sometime.

I am flattered and humbled by your comments! Thank you kindly, bbnix, bella, CMCastro. This write came during an exercize of gratitude during a low tide of spirit...the light out of the tunnel of self-pity that was threatening to engulf me...I have no reason to complain, absolutely none, and these words were given to show me that. Lots of love!

Hi tnderhrt23 - Well, Ill start off by commenting on the beauty of your thinking and, next, by telling you that you expressied it so well in the poem. Then I thought of my own "blade of grass church" that has no books, no scrolls, no laws - just a command to look out the window at a blade of grass if you doubt there is no higher one who could create things that no human can create.

Gus :-)))

Gus, I believe I am a member of that same "blade of grass church"...for it is to that theology that I subscribe! Perhaps unofficially, but a member all the same! Thank you, my friend, for your visit and awesome comment! Hugs!
