How I Wish, A Poem
I close my eyes
Listening to the calming sounds of the waves
I breathe the salty air
My long black hair swinging back and forth
Dancing as the wild winds blow.
How I wish I can stay here forever
Observing the ships and SuperCat ferries
Passing very far from where I sit
From Batangas Port
To Calapan Port.
How I wish I can sit here forever
To see the fishermen fishing
With their rowing boats or motor boats
To hear the dangerous sounds of the waves
On a rainy and stormy days
Hitting the big brown rocks
Before reaching the shores.
How I wish I can be here
Waving my friend
From up above the hill
Sailing from Manila Bay
To Calapan Bay.
Thanks to my friend Efsie and her family.
