Writing for Hubpages pays off long term

Writing for hubpages

Working for hubpages as a content writer is something quite unique indeed in this day and age of online everything. I learned a great deal from this awesome network, as I gave it my all to learn how to fulfill many of the objectives here, the goals to achieve, and to abide by much of the seen, and mostly unseen rules as well or terms of use here.

Overall hubpages is something that has boosted my motivation as a writer, to feel even greater purpose today, my life has taken a shift towards being able to reach an active audience, who seems to enjoy much of what I have to offer, which all equates to even more motivation.

Your passive earnings here on hubpages, if you chose to be a writer is directly related to how your overall hubpages traffic flows, if you have accounts with affiliate programs also helps, and that of Adsense by Google. Once your high quality hubs take off in terms of their gaining high views (if you've written any that is), they can end up going in the viral zone!, meaning can get shared across the web on such a high level that monetarily over time your rewards may become pretty good looking, but if you choose not to learn how to be an effective content editor here, and writer then it may not turn out as good.

This article goes into great detail, and helps folks get a much better handle on it all, with useful hub resources all throughout. Most of all learning to communicate effectively here, helps people score huge socially with the hubpages community, and you can meet some awesome writers, make cool friendships that are second to none, and this is the true reward for being a dedicated writer, and professional networking expert, in my book of writing online that is.

Learning the rules to the game on hubpages

Being a hubpages author, web editor, and communicator stands out above all the the rest to me, you can literally go from a no name person who hasn't really had the chance to get your voice heard online, and soon become well known if you learn the ropes here to how it all works, which I wrote close to 50 hubs on every aspect of hubbing I could think of, and ever since I stepped my digital foot onto the network here.

I'll be providing many of the links to such hub resources, for those who are interested in getting a much closer look into it all. True high quality hubpages authorship takes time to develop, mainly because there are so many hidden features built into this system here, that the average user only discovers over time, from fellow hubbers, and by doing intense research using the hubpages learning center.

How effective is SEO today

Another thing besides just learning about how hubpages works, is the web deals primarily with SEO (seach engine optimization), and how the web functions overall is by scanning for content as well as indexing of web pages, which is an ever evolving thing, and in a recent hub I wrote, I titled it as being a beast of sorts that requires over feeding as well as constant optimization, editing etc....

Keywords play a huge role in it, and you'll find many hubs written in the effort to help people learn how it all works, there's videos and web resources all across the web about it, there's websites dedicated to it, and it will make all the difference for sure, if you know how it works & linking hubs is a huge factor to it all as well.

This is where some hubpages writers may tend to be weaker at, or potentially stronger with. I myself chose to be weaker at this aspect for my very first year, and on purpose to see what would happen, if I chose not to use such a tool as Google's Adwords keyword tool, and just went with my own words to come up with keywords for my titling, and subtitling.

Now the funny thing is I show how to do it in many of my hubpages tutorials I've generated here, but I chose not to follow such a thing even though knowing my chances would be that my hubpages traffic would suffer in the end.

I did such a thing to determine the real truth for myself, and to come up with the statistical analysis of what would happen to a writer who chose to follow use of their keywords effectively, as opposed to someone who chose to use that awesome keyword tool by Google. (link to it highlighted up above, third paragraph).

Mike -

I've much to learn about the technical aspects of Hubpages, there is no doubt. That's one reason I follow you, is to learn. There is still much "foreign language", but the understanding is growing slowly.

I don't have to say "keep up the good work" to you, because you always do!

Thanks @Rcrumble, we both know it takes tremendous efforts to learn the ropes here on hubpages, and some folks just have it intuitively by instinct I guess, but people like you and me must go at it hard core, and this is what I try my best to do by helping others to understand today.

Thanks man for your awesome comment, and the hub loving support you render to me, on a regular basis ever since we've met here.

Excellent job here. We hubbers are always on the proverbial hunt for finding that magic "zone" where we can imagine actually making a decent living writing online. I agree that hubpages is one of a kind, and I love it!

I obviously have much to learn, Mike, because my earnings leave a lot to be desired. Thank God I have you around to teach me; your information is invaluable and I thank you for it. Thank God, also, for the fact that I just love to write, so money or no money, I am enjoying my time.

Thank you @Julie DeNeen, yes indeed striking that viral chord happens, actually one of my hubs is headed towards that direction, and its awesome indeed to watch how it all plays out, you know.

@billybuc, once again Bill strikes back, Haha.

I do my best to serve the community here Bill, someone gotta do it right, who knows maybe someday I can become an official hubpages tour guide. Hah!

The information you're providing in this article is good. However I disagree with your statement in paragraph 6 that

"it is something that will happen overnight". that could be a very misleading statement to new hubbers.

An article that is expected to inspire other writers should be written without grammar errors.

"it is something that will happen overnight" happened to me MANY times!

We are only human @galleryofgrace, not every mistake will be noticed upon first initial publishing, and if you think so, well that you my friend definitely stand corrected, because there are no perfect human beings here on earth, on hubpages or elsewhere, and your statement as to my hub needing to be up to such standards due to grammar requirements is true, but it sounds quite preposterous to say when making simple errors are part of writing as well.

Thanks for pointed out the error, but you may have over stepped your boundaries just a tad bit, in the critical zone there, and it may have not be called for either, but do you if you please.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to such things, its just not a way to make friends digitally though, trust me on that one.

Thanks for the visit, but no thanks I guess. I guess that last part would wrote to me, would be more sensible if the edit button didn't exist on hubpages. "Just think about"

@Doodlehead, thanks for your visit that was cool of you to have a sense of humor like that, I know that grammar is a huge issue here, but none of us are free from making error's, and it is easy to simply edit a hub over time once we've published to catch such things, but when life calls one must make a move in the real world, not allowing for such an editing to happen right away, you know.

Thank you for being so understanding, I have no clue what is wrong with galleryofgrace, but whatever floats that persons digital boat, is alright for me.

Re-edited @galleryofgrace

We are only human @galleryofgrace, not every mistake will be noticed upon first initial publishing, and if you think so, well than you my friend definitely stand corrected, because there are no perfect human beings here on earth, on hubpages or elsewhere, and your statement as to my hub needing to be up to such standards due to grammar requirements is true as for being a high quality hub, but it sounds quite preposterous to say such a thing as you've stated here, when making simple errors to be corrected at a later time, are part of the writing process as well.

Thanks for pointing out the error, but you may have over stepped your boundaries just a tad bit there, into the overly critical zone, and it may have not been called for neither, but do you if you please.

"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to such things, its just not a way to make friends digitally though, trust me on that one."

Thanks for the visit and the help, but no thanks I guess for being so harsh on a fellow hubber. I guess that last part you wrote to me, would be more sensible if the edit button didn't exist on hubpages. "Just think about"

Excellent tips Cloud Explorer! When I first started at Hubpages I had a slow start. I had writing skills but no ideas on SEO driven content, keywords, backlinks. It was a steep learning curve for me. As soon as I got a grip on these things and started using RSS feeds, my views and earnings quadrupled.. almost overnight. Sometimes I will use the keywords in the other way and write hubs around keywords I wouldn't have thought of. No matter how long we are here, I think we all have so much we can learn from each other.

I appreciate the way you handled my "opinion". I also believe that we should not imply to others that we "work" for hubpages unless one is an employee. It too is misleading.

Since you imply that you are an employee I guess we won't hobnobbing much.

The content of your articles is good so keep up the good work.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

@tammyswallow, yes indeed it took me a while to figure it all out as well, and I'm still learning more and more each day.

Thanks for being so kind to add your thoughtful insight here, cheers to awesome web success as many of us are paid hubpages employed freelance writers, who earn whatever we earn no matter if it's a penny or more.

galleryofgrace profile image

galleryofgrace 4 years ago from Virginia

I had no idea that Hubpages actually has writers who are paid employees.

On a second note I apologize for anything offensive I have written.

One of my grandson's(age 14) died suddenly Friday morning and I apparently am not dealing with it very well as my family has just reminded me.

Upon further research "Cloud Explorer" is not an employee of Hubpages. He is a freelance writer just like the rest of us. Anyway it was just hard to believe that Cloud Explorer's articles were professional work from HP.

Thanks for giving so useful hub here. I have noticed the such as main points to success here on hub pages which were off from my sight. I am new here and my problem is that my English is not so strong and I do the grammatical mistake so much. Please make me resolve a doubt -after getting 1000 viewers my all the hubs are marked as "need revision" What will they pay?

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

If you chose to monetize your hubpages account, and are getting paid by hubpages, ummm I believe you work for them, they have employed you online as a content writer, and I think your being way to technical, lay off a bit why don't cha, its not cool behavior you've exhibited here at all, oh well not everyone in the world is a cool person, but its all good.

I mean what's the deal with you anyhow, I looked at your profile, and I was wondering like, what's up with your stats "3 years on hubpages &", and all, is this the reason for such low amounts of followers " I thought to myself after viewing it", do you go around on hubpages and try to criticize everyone's hubs like this, please refrain from doing so any further if indeed so.

It doesn't look cute you know, there is a message inbox for such a thing, to maintain your positive outlook and good communications flow in the hubpages community here, are you just focused on correcting everyone like this. Yikes!

Instead maybe you can try to establish friendships is my point I'm driving at here (With a sharpened number 2 pencil) Hehe, it makes all the difference in a hubpages minute, Gallery.

Technically when you get paid revenue anywhere for that matter, you are being employed to produce something, and no matter which way a person tries to label it as such (freelance, employee or what have you).

Another thing is, we all are free to write our words as we please here on the web and to title them as we see fit as long as it isn't overly promotional, thus the reason why keywords are so powerful today. You must have never gotten that memo! Wow!!!!!

@galleryofgrace

Enough already you beat the digital horse to death, LOL

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

My original point will be driven home here on this response to @Anju Arya.

In my most humble and honest opinion, I feel that its quite OK to have grammar issues today as a writer, we are all here to learn from one another, and not to be criticized in the process. (How else does one learn anything, right!)

This is a huge community with writers from all around the globe, and not every person is a master at the English spoken, as well as written language, and for that matter you have nothing to worry about here Anju, please ignore those who are to critical, and try to read as many hubs as you can, to learn from many hubbers who care to help others today.

I try to inspire hubbers to do better, rather them chop them down, or hack at their efforts, you know, and so if people are here to do such a thing as to make others look bad, well than shame on them, no matter how bad of a day they may have had, there is no reason for such conduct on this networking community here, period.

Hopefully this helps you out as well, because human beings are imperfect in every way, you know.

Thanks for the insight here, and I am surprised the nerve of some folks here, but most of all this community is truly awesome indeed. Welcome to hubpages, not everyone is a rough overly critical person here, there's loads of kind people to share with, and to learn from. Good Luck!

Cloud -in response to your comment about "not having followers"- followers don't mean a hill of beans on here. they do not help you profit from your writings. Making friends and having followers is suitable for Facebook, Twitter or other social networks. This is not a social network- it's a content writing site.

One more time- you do not work for HP! You work for yourself.

End of conversation.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

Ok, I will no longer respond to your comments, you obviously have no clue what's going on on hubpages, so its all good.

Good Luck though and I can only wish you much success here and elsewhere my fellow hubber, if I can actually call you that.

I truly have no clue what you're doing here today besides doing what you've done on my hub here, actually this is a community of networkers, we get paid by hubpages, so say whatever you choose. I will think as I may as well, peace be with you.

Enjoy your day or evening. @Gallery

Why are both of you arguing here? It does not sound good. To put one's opinion here is the right of everyone. May be anyone to have some different but we all are here cultured and educated person therefor we should put our differences in a mannered way not as a personal issue we should take it. Sorry for interfering but it seems not good.

CloudExplorer profile image

CloudExplorer 4 years ago from New York City Author

You are right @Anju Arya, this is why I will no longer comment back if that person chooses to continue such, thanks for returning to help settle this, but I enjoy both positive and negative feedback, until it goes overboard, like what occurred here in this comment area today.

If people choose to serve it at me, I don't stand down, back down, or what have you until I have gotten out what I truly feel, and that is the god honest truth to the matter.

Just like when something is done wrong in reality in any situation, and if someone chooses not to say anything about it, I'm not that kind of person to shy away from an argument, or to let things just happen without saying something.

Hello Cindy, I felt the same way after signing up to hubpages, the safe aspect comes in where we discover how stringent the rules are here, and get to learn of all the ways to alert the system of malicious users here as well.

Thanks for the cool comment.

Hello Cloud, There is always so much to learn about writing on Hubpages and it's really a pretty cohesive and supportive community that can be very beneficial to anyone who has hesitated to give their writing skills a try. I see great ideas and storylines here all the time. I would like to see an increase in the $$ that we see. I suppose going viral is that "Holy Grail" most of us are looking for. Any tips to get us there are always welcome!! Well done and take care.
