Slyly returning

a wild shivering wind whips

bare branches shrieking.

billybuc, Yes, please I am ready! Every day is a little brighter, and then a massive storm roars through. The nice days are really nice. The bad days are rough. Enough already! Thanks for stopping by.

Haiku, thank you. I loved your poem and the Fleetwood Mac tune which I had never heard. We're getting the first glimpses of spring here with white buds on the Bradford pears and small fists of green on the Arizona ash trees. I love spring.

Beautiful haiku! So glad Spring is near. I was mowing my lawn without a jacket yesterday, and kids were running around in shorts.

Vickiw 3 years ago

Yes!! I just can't wait! Managed to get out in the garden for a brief spell this morning, but still struggling to recover from a WINTER cold. Lovely Haiku. You are so lucky to be able to write them.

Now that is a real haiku, 'm dear. Lovely one, too! You've restored my faith!

I like your illustration & music, though my computer is breaking up u-tubes. Had it in to the Apple Store where it worked just fine; but they did some adjustments which they hoped would fix it. Obviously it is not fixed! It's a new MacBook Pro, too. ;-[ - Well, I'll listen to the song on another computer! :-)

It's fun 'chillin' with you and listening to this 'cool' song as we wait for Spring...

Your poetry is fabulous! Hugs, Maria

Thank you all so much for reading and commenting. I love you guys! I'm having a technical glitch, so sorry not to answer you individually, tried 3x and lost the comment each time, verlie PS I think it was spring today. I was up a ladder cutting branches, and it didn't rain.

Miss seeing you in the tree house, Ms. Lane. Hoping you'll climb the ladder and visit.

Hi Peg, So sorry I've been off the radar. Spring time make work projects are getting most of my time and attention, but I will try and get back to the tree soon. Miss you guys!

“Slyly returning…” How perfectly this describes the wind…we think it has left, only to return in ways we cannot predict or control as we patiently wait for spring. Wonderful imagery and metaphor in this Haiku. :-)

snakeslane profile image

snakeslane 3 years ago from Canada Author

Genna, Thank you, a Haiku looks so simple, but it's not. I'm still not completely saisfied with this one. It's getting a little neurotic, but I'm pleased you like it.

Hello my dear Snakeslane - how are you feeling these days? How are your computer woes? Are things back to normal for you in that department?

Thank you for your lovely comment and the tip on the Jim Carey video - I hear he makes fun of gun owners in this one - is that right? How about making fun of people who hate poetry? They are the ones we really got to watch out for - lol.

I love your words here because they are so sublime and artistic - another nice lady who writes like this is Audrey Howitt.

I am sending you my sincere warmest wishes my fellow Canadian and spring seems just around the corner and my two cats were out on their deck for a good part of this day having the same feeling.

Lake erie time ontario canada 12:51am

Always nice to have a chat with you and please take special care and keep in touch too.

Hi Epi, Thanks for the visit. I am still hitchhiking on my neighbour's WiFi, I'm doing alright, good to see you. I see you've been writing up a storm.

Thank you manatita. It's almost autumn now. I see my music video has disappeared due to copyright issues. I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't left a comment. Thanks!
