Hubpages Vs Ezine Articles, Which One to Choose
There are several websites on the internet where you can submit your writings and few of them allow you to make money on your writings. Article submission directories allow you to write articles to promote your website. You provide value in your article and tell the reader to visit your website to find more information.
Usually on the internet, if you want write about topic that interests you need to have you own website or blog. If you are writing articles and submitting to article directories, usually somebody review it before publishing it. If the person reviewing the article doesn't like your article (for any number of reasons, like quality of the content, grammar etc) or in a bad mood (just kidding), your article would not be published.
But if you like writing and don't want to go through the hassle of having your own blog, Hubpages is your best bet. You can express yourself freely on the topic you like (acceptable content of course). On top of that Hubpages allows you to make money using Google adsense, amazon and ebay ads. In addition to the freedom of writing without going through the technical challenges, the best part I like about hubpages is that you can compliment your writing with photos and videos. As far as I know, article submission sites won't allow you to do that.
In my opinion Hubpages falls between blogs and article directories. On blogs you can express yourself freely and write about anything you want, no restrictions whatsoever (because you are the author and owner of the website).
In article directories, somebody will review your writing and decides whether it is acceptable content. In Hubpages, you can write freely on any topic you choose but you cannot go wild and put any junk you want. You will be reminded if you violate the terms and conditions and if you are being stubborn you will be penalized accordingly. Most important thing we should be excited about writing on Hubpages is that, in addition to giving the option to write on any topic we want, Hubpages share the ad revenue generated through our hubs with us. That is the major difference between Hubpages and other websites.
I have recently discovered Hubpages and absolutely love the community here. Still I am exploring Hubpages and learning everyday from other successful hubbers and its forum. I think it is one of the best websites for the people who are passionate about writing.
There are many article submission directories on the internet, but most popular among these is Ezine articles. Their standards of accepting an article seems to be a step above the rest of the article directories. An article is reviewed three times (three phases of review) before it gets published. Your article has to go through strict approval rules. Before they publish it, they will make sure that it was not published anywhere else on the internet. You can have two self serving links in the article body. Like in Hubpages, you cannot make money from the ads placed on your article if it gets published.
The revenue from the ads goes to the Ezine articles, but you get to use the sites high page ranking and Google love to your advantage by getting traffic to your article and in turn to your website. The key is to have a good call to action statement and promising offer. In Ezine articles, there are three types of authors. The author levels in increasing order are basic, basic plus and platinum. If you are a platinum level author, your articles will be reviewed very quickly (mostly in one day) and will have higher chances of approval as you have proven that you are good author by reaching the platinum status.
I have written twenty nine ezine articles till now (feel free check my ezine articles here). The option of where to write depends upon your individual choice. Both are very reputed websites with lot of Google love and high page ranking.
