Poem: Human Psychology – Dedicated to a lovely woman, Missy Smith

The night leisurely cast shadows, and my legs

Tremble whilst marching to the Temple of Wisdom…

Though the staircase to the pilgrimage is adorned

With earthen lamps in dark nights for warmth and vision,

Still, I stumble, shivering in the damp foggy cold

When passing by a perennial pond that’s garmented with

A peculiar glacial suit stitched with crystal buttons…

I am aware of human frailties,

Like a cough cannot be hidden,

So too, the ‘shiver’ from chills…

Meanwhile, the Golden sun ducks in, spreading

Bright yellowish-orange arms and bowing gently with

Reverence to the lush greenery and cultivated fields…

Slowly and steadily, I reach near the old banyan,

Relaxing myself underneath its cool shadows…

I dilute the worries into the pond,

Where the brownish-green clay absorbs it all…

Suddenly I see my own silhouette,

A sense of tranquility emerges, seeing my own shadow

Perching beside the quivering twig –

Following me as I move,

Accompanying me in solitude…

‘Will she stay forever with me?’ I ponder.

Lo! The dawn sprawls on the fluffy cotton clouds,

Enlightenment takes birth in the depths of mind;

I’m alone, numb and baffled…

O Surabhi, what to talk of others? When your own shadow

Abandons you in darkness, making you

A stranger to yourself, and yet teaches you

An exemplary lesson about human psychology

Without the aid of counselor or academia!

Missy,

You read. You felt. You smiled. It made you happy. What else can I ask for? My message has been conveyed. I am delighted that it touched your Soul. You are a brave woman; a courageous Heart. Your inner Light portrays charismatic thoughts. Let it flow in the vast ocean of love and peace.

I am so happy to know you are happy! Keep smiling, my sweet friend… always. Copious blessings to you! Lots of Love :) Amen.

Jodah,

Well... well… no doubt, Missy is a beautiful and a wonderful lady. And, you too, are a great human being; a kind Soul. Keep on uplifting the readers. Keep this spirit up. Thank you for the visit. Love and Peace :)

Manatita,

Yes, yes, I have learned this all from my Teacher. He has always said to serve… serve… serve… So I thought to give it a throttle in order to turn my thoughts into actions. (he he). My Teacher knows… my teacher knows very well. Love you :)

Much appreciations. Jai Bhole!

Very beautiful poetry surabhi.

Mein akela he hua paida,

Akelepan se nahin gila,

Mere saath nahin koi to kya hua,

Mein kisi ke saath ho lun jiska koi na hua.

I am born a-lone,

Lone-liness is my twin,

When none is along,

I can get along with my twin.

Hari Bhai, thank you... thank you!

A beautifully penned ghazal here, bro. You remind of my favourite poet, Gulzaar Sahab sometimes. God bless you.

"When your own shadow

Abandons you in darkness"

How can we trust others to be on our side when our own shadow abandons us in darkness...sad but true!
