I Once Dined, Burned, Danced and Bled. I Now Serve.

I once dined in the boat of uncomely experiences,

Stabbing myself with the arrow of temptation.

I just dined.

I once burned in the valley of shadows,

Biting at the apple of ‘petty’ needs.

I just burned.

I once infected my own wound,

Bleeding with the naked knife of gossip.

I just bled.

I once entered the realm of dance and music.

I swayed with the night of ignorance,

And flirted with the web of complacency.

I just danced; swayed … flirted.

Now I am trying to serve my Beloved,

In the cry of the Pilgrim-Seekers,

Dreaming of Love in the Heart of life.

I just serve. –Manatita.

I think in silence,

where am i, what am i since,

Is because,

what I was, thence.

So will, i get another chance?

Oh! No,

if I still live on past tense.

Oh! Yes.

If have acceptance on my consciousness.

Nice poem manatita.

Ha ha, my Sweet Faithful. Different style here. You like it? Hope I did not drift away from the Light too much. I wanted a different shade of poem. Thank you so much!

Thank you Swalia. We are so alike, we humans ...

I try to express the journey of the Soul in myriad ways...

Higher thoughts and blessings.

So alike...after all, the same parmatma resides in all of us. It's just that we have forgotten our eternal relationship with Him. The journey is all about reviving our love for the divine.

Transformation at best. The images of "Dined, Burned, Danced and Bled" are very effective.

Thanks, my Friend Jodah. I like that one too. I have a few like this, I mean, quite different, but with a strong Spirit and message that flows well. I wrote three that day. They're all here.

Once again, I truly appreciate your loving contribution to my poems. In Love and Light.

Whoa! Hold on… hold on a second. This is beyond admiration. I can somehow connect the last stanza with your other Sonnet, “What I Wanted, And What I Became.”

This is a different style of poetry, which I have seen after many long years. But of course, your message and style is different here with a peculiar aura of spirituality. I completely understand this poem. Sometimes… it is better when certain words are left unsaid and unspoken. But hey! The yearning to meet with the Supreme must be uttered… must be expressed. What a brilliant poem. Actually this is my second favourites. Yea… decided. He he. I am trying to catch up here, and I think weekends are best suited. Cheers to this wonderful poem.

Past is past. It cannot be changed, but we can surely change our attitude towards it and perceive it in a positive way for a brighter tomorrow. Bravo, Manatita. Keep them coming... you are almost hitting your 300th hub!

Surabhi,

A different style. Read it last night. Much loved. Your keen sense of observation is noted. 300 soon, if I don't stop. Ha ha. I send you my Heart. Feel it.

Gypsy,

so kind of you; so sweet and meaningful! Much gratitude ..much.
