I Raise My Cup And ToastThe Night
Heaven's Light and Earth's Love
I Raise My Cup And Toast The Night
I raise my cup and toast the night,
Not long to wait before the Light.
No more my labyrinth in sight,
My demons conquered, won the fight.
Sweet Lord, I can again re-start,
The jewelled purse-strings of the Heart.
I stabbed the darkness with my dart,
The Light illumined, now my lot.
All praises due alone to Thee,
Retreated not, nor did I flee.
When times were rough, Love was the key,
Came from above and rescued me.
So let us raise a glass to night’s,
Adversity my bosum kite;
To give a toast to God’s own Light,
Shone through the darkness, strong and bright.

A poem depicting the frolicking of a carnival atmosphere in Grenada, covering the colours of our flag, our agriculture and a tiny bit of what gives us meaning.
In praise of my Greanada, giving a flavour of the warmth, carnival and vibrancy of Caribbean life. As well as the sacred Spirit that governs my Country.
My real niche is mystical; esoteric or ethereal poetry. And inner experience and longing are my greatest strengths. This is a feel-good type of mystical poem.
