I Remain- a poem
By Tony DeLorger © 2011
In honour of beauty I remain,
in the torture of earthly life abstain,
to imbue the siren chorus of love,
and to marinate in angelic fusion above.
At the heights of mind and soul,
I aspire to sight and all,
that lives in the purity of heart,
and relinquishes those stones cast.
In hurtful judgements made,
ignoble deeds, dismay,
from darkness in the minds of the lost,
resigned to hate and null of cost.
In love do I challenge the sad,
lost and vengeful, infirm and mad,
I honour life and a vista clean,
to relish being and lessons gleaned.
In reverence does my heart appease,
the blindness shown in lives so ceased,
within the grip of darkness thoughts,
and slight of hand, unsavoury rorts.
In life I honour all that is,
the beauteous plan and potential bliss,
in reflection all is seen in perfect state,
sour intent a perspective made.
