See The World Through My Eyes

I don't own it and I live so happy and carefree

You take on all the responsibility of all the bills and the mortgage

I give you a leg rub in return

My food is left out for me when I am hungry

I look forward to eating it and I make sure I clean my dish

Sometimes I will eat a little and come back later to finish

You give me a fresh bowl of water every day

I am not a big water drinker and I rather play

You tell me to drink it down

I know it is good for me and you have gone through all this trouble

It is so good when it is cold and quenches my thirst once again.

You let me lay on the bed,chair,floor,couch and even on the bookcase once and awhile

I know I go other places and you tell me to get down

I want to walk across the counter and the table and across the bureau inbetween all the pictures and the lamp

I just need a little more room to move around don't you think?

Then there are some special days where I sleep my day away

You leave me early and come home late and I am still in the same spot

Curled in a ball my paws tucked in under my legs or belly

You leave classical music on every afternoon so I can listen and admire

I find it quite relaxing and so peaceful

I don't have to deal with rush hour traffic or car payments or automotive bills

Even though you could take me for a ride more often than just to the vet once a year

Overall I am really something special

I jump on your lap every night and you welcome me with open arms and a friendly hello

I keep my eye on flying bugs in the summer so you could say I am pest control

Once and awhile you surprise me with a treat

Usually after getting my nails cut or my annual shots

To be quite honest I find it wonderful to sit next to you when your typing or watching t.v.

The rest of the day is mine to do what I please

So if you were smart as me you would be not just a cat but one lucky kitty

That has a grin that everyone can see
