I Set Me Free

tears spill down like autumn rain, rush my heart in regret and pain.

a portrait of your face appeared along with reality most feared...

somehow all the pain that tore love embraced from my very core

like faded photographs of time, escape the consciousness of mime.

all it seems that I recall... the deep connection of my all,

is what yet beckons with each day, even now, in every way...

haunts my every waking hour, defies command, wielding power.

Time to set this captive free...from this yearning I must flee.

The love we shared shall yet live on but I must heal and move beyond.

What once was, remains no more... the time has come to close the door.

Today's the day I must reclaim that which you hold, and free of blame,

cut the heart strings that have bound, so no regret will thus resound.

let these tears like autumn rain refresh my soul with joy's refrain.

and set me free to love once more, to knock again on heaven's door.

Touching, very much... It is our true strength and colour that shines when we accept the truth. No matter does it hurt or fill our heart with joy.
