I Shall Not Deny

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

I wish now to not deny anything,

to accept what I want

in pursuit of dreams,

however unlikely the outcome.

I now understand

that failure is often the denial of purpose,

chosen wrongly from the outset.

What resounds within me,

like a beating meditation chime,

I shall accept and pursue

regardless.

For to deny myself,

what resides as truth,

is to deny my path,

my existence.

I shall not resist,

in love,

in opportunity,

in expression,

in life.

I shall not deny possibility,

limit myself

by fear or circumstance,

or my failings, known.

I am pure in risk,

and when I listen to my heart,

it speaks, it urges,

and denial is my ears closed.

I shall no longer forgo

my wants, my dreams,

my love.

Ok then, you were blessed with this gift. Wow. I think this should be a Pledge. With both hands on your heart and standing in bright sunshine. I'm just saying.

You are very kind Suzette. I have already published two books of poetry, but getting it to an audience is always the problem. I'm not sure that the Hub community would be enough for a mainstream publisher to go with it. Publishers here in Australia want you to have an audience waiting and they suggest to be an active member of the poetry community, do readings etc. I'm thinking of doing that for the sake of my future work. I have written over 300 poems in the last ten months, so I've plenty for possible publication. I will pursue it. Thank you so much for being supportive. I really do appreciate it. take care.

I just have to tell you that your poetry just is staggering. It always makes me stop and think, which is exactly what poetry is suppose to do. Your poetry has an edge to it that I like and I mean that as a compliment, not a negative. And the photography you find to go with these poems is just beautiful and so perfect. Someone said along the way you should publish a book of poetry and I agree and second that. I think there would be quite an audience out there for your poetry. Keep writing!
