I Thought I Was a Dream

I thought I was a dream
For where a man loves, he lives
And where a man smiles, he breathes
Yes, I thought where a man is honest, he sleeps
But where a man lives, he fails
And where a man smiles, he is timid
Yes, where a man is honest, he is a fool

I thought I was a dream
For where you danced, I watched
And where you loved, I lived
Yes, where you were, I slept
But where you lived, was apart
And where you smiled, I was away
Yes, where you were honest, I was awake

I guess I'm too ignorant to understand this prose. Oh well. I came, I saw, I read and I left. ;)

"Always do right. This will gratify some and astonish the rest." An honest man is never a fool, but then again there are a lot of fools in this world! Lol.

Hi lovedoctor - "Always do right." Sounds simple but not always for me.... the fool and love are somewhat hand in hand at times it seems.... hope you're doing well. Thank you for commenting.

Hi Suburban Poet.............I love the odd juxtapositions of this poem. The unusual thought pairings make it intriguing.

@ExoticHippieQueen (talk about juxtapositions!)... you know to say it's odd and unusual is almost better than praise because it hints of orginiality and that is what I am striving for. I appreciate your comments always....
