I Twist And Turn All That I Have Learned
It's So Much Fun
Look at today with special enthusiasm and curiosity
Don't be like other people who fall into bad habits by saying
Today is the same old thing
It's not and how can it ever be
Your body is constantly changing
You might have a regular routine and it may seem familiar
We all have to sleep and eat that's a given
Going to work pays the bills and keeps a roof over our heads
My father use to say that often
Doing the constant never ending chores around the house
Keeps our life neat and clean and organized
Without those three things our life could take a turn for the worse
In our free time we may relax and read watch t.v. go on line
For some it is sports and enjoying all the excitement and the thrill
Going to church or special groups or clubs that we enjoy so much
Going to the gym or exercising at home
So that we may stay in shape with a healthy body and sound mind
Most of our other time is easily spent
Doing errands or helping out family members
Everyone but not limited to husbands and wives
Our children including our pets
Closest friends ,coworkers and neighbors
So when we look at a few days grouped together
It is not uncommon to think it's just another day
Nothing special
Same old same old
What we clearly forget
Is those times that we try to erase from our mind
When we are sick and at home and just can't wait to be better
Doctors visits and hospital stays
Wakes and funerals of all the ones we love and have lost
These things are never really talked about
We do think about often our vacations and our days off
When we make the most of the time we have
Enjoying our time away from work and the daily pressures
How about those crazy busy times that we don't remember
They are like you holding the clicker and going fast forward right through a commercial
Not one but two or three
No more than that eight, nine and ten
We don't see it so how can we remember it
We are so busy
We are lucky just to have enough time to breathe
Well that is my life in fish bowl
Adding in car accidents and a few work injuries to keep me on my toes
All the holidays and birthday parties over the years
A couple of new car purchases
Renting and finally buying a house
I call my own
Which is really a play on words
I pay the bank and the bank lets me live there
Till the day my mortgage is paid off
Which is a lifetime away
Leaving on a good note
How could I forget weddings, anniversaries and all those times out to eat
Then of course life would not be complete
Without the quiet times at home
To top it all off
Those incredible times where two lovers share the joys of the world
More in action than in words
I have been blessed in so many ways
it is hard for me to keep track of one day let alone years
That have flown by faster than a flock of birds
Just two feet in front of us a minute ago
Now out of sight
Good morning to those who aren't awake yet
Good evening to those who are eating
Good night to those who are sleeping
May your day be one hundred times mine
Greater and lovelier in every way
Filled with all the excitement of three life times
