I Wanted To Shine With The Light of Heaven. A Sonnet, to Dora Isaac Weithers. With Love.
Dora Isaac Weithers
Seasons Greetings with Love and Beauty
I wanted to blossom, like sweet-scented lavender flowers,
Cascading fragrances, like roses, into the Hearts of all.
But the Beloved filled me with the joy of sweet Sacrifice.
I longed for the coming of my sunrise;
To unfurl an expanse of beauty, like sails,
Elegantly dancing with the breeze.
But I saw the face of Da Vinci’s Mona,
Smiling the smile of the unutterable,
At the illumined gateway of a shimmering Light.
I wanted to shine with the Light of Heaven,
But the Beloved touched me with the Breath of Love.
I became inebriated,
Swaying from the supernal wine of Lovers,
Crested and garlanded, with Perennial Delight. – Manatita.
