I Will Be Here

I can see my dreams

Like a shadowy ghost just out of reach

Yet so real they're almost tangible

If only they were that manageable

Instead the past repeats itself one more time

Feeling locked away as if by some crime

I don't have the luxury to break down and cry

So I'll be strong and I will keep up the fight

Until there's nothing more left of me

There's something more, there has to be

I may be trapped in a temporary cage

But surely there will be a turning of this page

Sometimes it is easy to feel trapped, but as you so eloquently said, there will be another page. Beautiful poem, Shanmarie.

Shan-oh-my-I-couldn't-be-anymore-touched-MARIE!

Wow... girl, this might just be my favorite? It's a little short, but you've said so much and I felt every word of it... Shan, this is so beautiful... and a little sad. There's always room for optimism, no matter how hard it might be to get to it.

Love ya!!!

Feeling bound and caged isn't a good feeling at all. Hope you can get out of its grip.

You are a wonderful writer Shan Marie - and as I always say to anyone in the poetry genre (or any writing for that matter) - Always write from your heart and your mind will always follow and you certainly achieve both in your words and in your sentiments here.
