I Will Fear Not

Bring them onto me now turn
lose the impending storms
I fear them not
The thunder and lightning rolls
echoes into the ledges and the seas
shake the core of this very earth
For a moment ....just a moment
something dark grasps at my
soul but I push it away
Daring it to return
Stepping up onto the edge of the
windblown cliff
I look far out to the horizon
at the rolling seas
And I know
I just know
I was spawned from the storms
Off to my right the lightning flashes as
if trying to warn me
of the strike that will come
But I remain like stone
I have been here before
Maybe ....just maybe
I  am the storm itself.......

I love the strength that comes from the inner core, storm or no storm, just a moment of darkness but the inner core has what it needs to carry on.. never shaken, never stopped. Powerful!

We are storm sometimes, we are the calm wave too, in another time. But most of the time, I hope, we are morning dew for the world. ^_^

Your poems and avatar said them all.

I hope the gentle wind will blow your burden away.

As beautiful as it always,

Still hope soon,

The Sun will shine,

Inside your beautiful fine lines.

For some reason this reminds me of a tornado, the only one I had been in not usual for up north where we lived and it was almost Christmas which was also odd timing for them. My husband slept right through it and after about the first five minutes of fear I just felt a peace and that was certainly odd because I had two toddlers....they never woke either. It was like a stand off with God although I don't mean it disrespectfully at all, it was like He asked did I trust and I said I do. I sometimes wonder if there was a reason no one heard it but me. The winds slammed the house and roof many times. Sorry, didn't mean to write my own hub here. lol This was a very spiritual time in my life.

The calm in the center of the storm is, in my mind, our most fragile self. The storms we gather to rage around us are there to protect that centered space, to make it grow, and sometimes to tear it apart too allow for new growth... in that we are the storm indeed. Great thoughts you have sparked there again my friend. Do you know how well you teach with your words and the emotions they bring?

Be Well my friend!

Hugs to you

Sometimes I think I am the storm itself, sometimes I think I am my own worst enemy!! But I am treating myself better these days and I like it. Deep poetry and I am sure it touches each of us in a different way!!

Wow, your words have so much guts and power. You are formidable against the storm, not even the darkness threatening your very soul, stands a change of weakening you. Your words are a feast to my senses. I feel the wind lashing my face and the salt air biting my skin. I feel you have faced much hardship in life and you will let nothing shake you ever again. Thank you, ahorseback, for this powerful poem.
