Writing Words On Paper

Writing words on paper

Setting thoughts free

Letting them wander

Round ‘til they find me

Writing words on paper

Letting others read

My secret thoughts

Take me where they lead

Writing words on paper

Down long and winding roads

Seeing which one I take

Watching where they go

Writing words on paper

Hoping they take the pain

Away from me and others

Feeling a little less strain

Writing words on paper

Seeing where they flow

Bringing me new friends

As down the trail they go

Why do I like to write?

Let me tell you in a few words. I am a shy, quiet person and only by writing can I truly let my real self show. When I try to tell someone how I feel, I stutter and cry. When I write about how I feel, this is what happens.

Loneliness

Watch out for loneliness

That terrible awful man

He’ll never make you smile

Like Mr. Happiness can

He’ll make you miss the loved ones

And those that you adore

Watch out for Loneliness

Don’t let him knock on your door!

Written by a younger me at 15

Writing also helps me to inform people about things I know a little about, such as teaching and children and other things I love. It helps me to open up about trials and troubles I have had in my life. It helps me to tell people who I am and who and what I love.

My Hero

You’ve always been my hero

In everything you’ve done

Even though you say

You’ve only been my mom

When times were tough

You held us all tight

Made sure we had a place

To rest our heads at night

You always worked hard

Did it all without a stutter

Always had food on the table

Even if it was just cornflakes and peanut butter

You managed three growing daughters

And one job, or two or three

Though we had to struggle

Look how well we all turned out to be

So you will always be my hero

Just like this little bear

For all the things you’ve done

Not just the uniform you wear

Written by a little older me, two weeks after 9/11/01

Sometimes I write just for fun. Just to be silly. Sometimes I write just to write and to see if anyone reads what I write.

Just Being Silly

Silly little poem today

Cuz sometimes I just want to play

I saw a bird chase a worm

As across the sky they both did squirm

When they landed in the sea

I looked to see what I could see

A dog ran after its little tail

While walking across the rail

When it jumped to the ground

A squirrel nearby was found

The squirrel ran up the tree

And sat quietly sat and talked to me!

I write for a variety of reasons. I write to share my feelings, to share knowledge, to share my strange thoughts. Sometimes I write just so that I can write….

I think writing has helped you through some emotional times. It's wonderful therapy. Enjoy it, even if no one reads it. It's between you and God.

Keep writing.

Hi, justateacher! Voted up and away..all across on this WONDERFUL hub. LOVED every line of it. I am into poetry but only that of abstract/prose. I have 2 on hubs: "A Final Glimpse," and " . . .one evening at dusk" I am NOT promoting my hubs. Just sharing with you. It was so nice to find you on hubs. May I be your fan and follower too? With My Highest Regards, Kenneth Avery, from a rural town, Hamilton, in northwest Alabama, that is another Mayberry, that sweet little town on the Andy Griffith Show. Peace and Security to you.

justateacher..thank YOU, but you don't have to read them all...some of the earlier ones are NOT worth the trip. Okay? Although I appreciate YOU for reading them, just read the latter ones. YOu will enjoy those more..and Im NOT self-promoting my work just saving you some grief. Thank you. Kenneth

Up and Awesome

people write formany reasons. I started because I wanted to inform, now I still want to inform but I want people to create solutions to problems

Great poem. I am glad you stopped by and read my Miss Kitty hub. Gave me a chance to find you and read some of your hubs. You definitely caught the essence of why writers write.

mljdgulley354- I am glad that I came across your hub. It was very entertaining. As a younger person, many of my pets came to me just like your Miss Kitty! (And many had such imaginative names as Dog, Crazy Kat, Stray and even Meow!)
