I am a Street Dog!

Not an apple of anyone’s eye,

no one calls me sweety pie

a humble creature of the Almighty

devoid of every honour and dignity

I am bashed by all to stay no where

for the quest of life, roam here and there

world is my home , God my saviour

only He loves me and my behaviour

no human but nature looks me after well

in its lap i play and fed in a magical spell

sky is roof and the earth my cozy bed

I am a poor Street Dog, not a darling Pet !

Hi shara, this was such a great poem, and its so sad to think that dogs have to live like this, I remember going to greece and seeing stray dogs, they are so street wise! lol! they make their own space and are really intelligent, cheers nell

I grew up believing every stray dog had a home. Some how some way they got loose or they got separated from their owners.Surely noone would let any animal roam free without a home. You taught me in other countries this is not true.Dogs aren't pets that sleep on the foot of our beds or by our side when we watch t.v.Interesting and a sad hub.Very good poem on the subject.

Ms. Shara, I loved the poem and I saw pictured dog who would be coming home with me for food and a bed, I cannot pass by one of the Creators beings and not care for them that given food love and water they become their nature of friendly and playful loyal companions and I try to find them a loving home after they have had their shots and Vet check up and neutered as well, then there are the ones that I can't let go and they stay with me a gift from God,

May the Blessings Be,

dusty
