I wake in the morning thinking of you.

My Little man

My little man,

while I live so far away,

I think of you every day.

I wake in the morning wondering If your thinking of me,

as I dream at night, it is you that I hope to see.

I think of you when I’m in the grocery store,

the way you’d hold my hand as we’d race to the door.

You’d pick out the car cart and quickly jump in,

ride through the store with that silly little grin.

The love of my life!
The love of my life!

I think of you when I’m making my lunch,

the way you’d help me stir the fruit punch.

You’d wiggle and giggle and make a great mess,

No worries for me, you’re worth all the stress!

I wake in the morning wondering If your thinking of me,

as I dream at night, it is you that I hope to see.

I think of you when I buy coffee at the local drive thru,

this was something we would often do.

A coffee for me, juice and a donut for you,

It had to have sprinkles, no other would do!

cuddling feet
cuddling feet

I think of you while I watch TV at night,

the way we’d cuddle was such a delight.

Tucked under the covers with your arms folded behind your head,

While I’d rub your back, your arms and even your legs.

I wake in the morning wondering If your thinking of me,

as I dream at night, it is you that I hope to see.

I think of you whenever I’m in a Walmart,

it’s been your favorite store right from the start.

You’d tell me so every time we would go,

Probably because I’d buy you a toy and rarely say NO!

I think of you when it's raining outside,

Remembering how we’d dance inside.

in the kitchen we’d have our umbrella’s in hand,

“Singing in the rain” was the song that we sang!

I wake in the morning wondering If your thinking of me,

as I dream at night, it is you that I hope to see.

I think of you little man day and night,

and love you hard with all my might!

I hear your heart breaking all the way down to Ft. Myers.

I wrote to you, but you never answered.

You must miss your little man terribly.

Be strong, Lori. The move is worth it. You did the right thing.

It is good to 'see' you here on HP.

Know that I send positive thoughts and strengthening prayers your way.

DJ.

This is a sad poem but full of love Lori. I don't know the situation, but I wish you all the best, and hope you see your "little May" soon. Voted up.

DJ, when? Did you send it to my e-mail? I did not receive it! Thank you for thinking of me and stopping in to read my sad little poem! I was feeling pretty down today as you can probably tell! Please write me again!

Thank you Jodah, I recently moved from R.I. to Florida and left behind my 4yo grandson and daughter! I was missing him terribly today, between his age and the fact that he's a boy he hardly wants to talk to me on the phone or sit long enough to skype! I just miss our weekly visits and one on one time. We were tight! My little man! I just feel it slipping away with the miles! But after talking with my daughter we agreed we need to be a little more creative with keeping in contact! Hopefully it will work to make me feel better. He on the other hand seems to be getting along just fine! :)

It's a sweet poem conveying your sadness so well. It's awful to miss those young years because you can never get them back and before you know it they're independent little guys or girls. My heart goes out to you.

Thanks shrinker, that is the most depressing part! Missing our little conversations and special times together!
