I wish that I was beautiful ...........verse

The child sit's at the edge of humanity
a pitiful existence
and his lonely heart cries " I wish that I were beautiful too"
in soul bending insistence

Golden hair and worn out shoes
hand me down soul and heart
So why I ask have we failed him?
somehow we haven't done our part

By the back of the classroom the teacher droning
on and on and on
The teenage slices a blade into her
flesh and the blood flows on

Can we not feel for that girl have we
lost all in this prideful demise
there really is a heart behind the black
make- up and the lonely distant eye's

Want to know when man's moved too far
down in this moral decline ?
The answer lies in the children's eye's
or the salvation we can find

All they want is for you to say You are beautiful too
can't you find the time
If we save our children we can save ourselves
come on and show a sign

An instructive, thought-provoking, educational and sublime plus poem. So meaningful and necessary in today's world.

Beautiful message. It doesn't cost us anything to recognize and declare their beauty, but it may be worth a new life for them to hear it. Thanks.
