I won't say goodbye, Daddy please don't go!

Please don't cry

I won't say "Good bye"

Instead I'll think of you in Heaven

You're not leaving!

You're showing us where we should go~

Though life gives us many woes

I won't say "Good bye" !

And I don't want to cry

I'll be joining you soon

So why all the gloom?

You told me you loved me

In some odd way you did

And I'll never forget the way I felt

When I was just your kid

As a child you picked me up when I was three

As you came home from work, I ran up to you happily

Times were tough and things were rough

But those memories fade

All I'm left with are

the good times we made

Mostly I recall how many musicals we watched

Your voice and singing- these special parts of you

I noticed all the cards you gave

to Mom and flowers too!

Though life is often twisted

Your life and love was gifted

You mean something - to us all.

Today is a joyful day

For life is no longer gray

Nor holds pain or sorrow

No worries of tomorrow

Eternal bliss

Light beams from everywhere

Walking with God--

Along Heaven's Highway

And into Heavens door..

And let out a Shout of GLEE!

Rest in peace

Rest in peace

I miss my dad, and the funny thing is he lives with me, he's never truly been close to me, so this poem is touching to me in every way.

I sense your love for your dad as well, if this poem is indeed about him. Great usage of words, and I think your an awesome creative writer as well as poet. Voted up and I'm following you for sure.

Thankyou so much again. Yes it is about him, he passed Nov 30, 2011. It was written during that time, trying to express my sadness and be positive as well!

I'm still grieving a little Mary, and I know you are too. I wasn't aware of it..
