I Knew a Little Fairy Once

I knew a little fairy once~

She showed up in my worlds~

When I traveled asleep~

All my logic was unfurled.

I with head nestled on the mossy rock~

My dreams swirled and swirled~

I had nothing to fear~

Opened minded as a little girl.

I would visit with her quite often~

As reality blurred~

At first I had to be as quiet as could be~

Until she petite was undeterred.

She soon taught me a wee little dance~

I followed with my dainty prance~

She held my hands~

As we waltzed through wondrous lands!

The Fairy’s name was Fee~

She taught me how to sing a song~

Buttermilk, buttermilk and peas~

Stirred all night long. ~

Buttermilk and peas~

Stir it with me~

Buttermilk, buttermilk and peas~

Stir with me pretty please.

As we danced around Fee’s big golden pot~

The fire blazed the sides~

As we took turns to stir~

We had lots of fun as we sang loud and high! ~

Buttermilk, buttermilk and peas~

Stirred all night long. ~

Buttermilk and peas~

Stir it with me~

Buttermilk, buttermilk and peas~

Stir with me pretty please.

My dream world was waning~

As we ate our buttermilk and peas~

I felt my head ease down now to laying~

As Fee said goodbye to me.

I as usual a woken only to find myself~

Alone with moss below my head~

The forest now seemed again lonely~

As I ran as fast as I could to my homestead.

Now as an adult I do not venture~

To the forest with the moss covered rock~

I miss my little Fee~

Yet I still have her fond warm memories.

I knew a little fairy once~

She showed up in my worlds~

When I traveled asleep~

All my logic was unfurled.

I with head nestled on the mossy rock~

My dreams swirled and swirled~

I had nothing to fear~

Opened minded as a little girl.

My daughter loves fairies, we watch so many shows and read so many books about them. If you don't mind I will read her your poem tonight. She is only three though, so honestly some of the interest maybe mine. Jamie
