IN HER COMPANY: SILVER MOON: A POEM
My dear, have you come again?
Have you seen him? Is he well?
My heart has hence, restless lain
To hear, thee, thy tale to tell
I have none else to confide
No shoulder to cry on
My days elate and just as fast, slide
My being is very lorn
Yet so scented, so soothing
So delicious, with hope, seething
Yet he who is the cause
Is far away, my painful loss
Does he sleep peacefully?
My flushed cheeks are wet
With tears at his remembrance
No other thought to grace me, it lets
Watch over him
Shower him with your silver beauty
Tell him, I’ll wait even if never, he comes
Night, give repose’s bliss, your sacred duty
Dear, night is fast waning
And I must bid good bye
Thank you for silent, listening
And tell him I’ll love him till I die
