I Asked The Flowers (poem)

I asked the flowers blossoming to Joy

To whisper their sweet music to my heart

A gentle scent to meaning of my ploy

Or any luster to my soul impart

The breeze which lights the glory of this day

Now spreads a dance of wonder everywhere

As in a realm of heaven I now stray

I asked the flowers their advise to air

Then suddenly the world became quite still

A moment of reality less clear

And in the sultry silence of this thrill

The flowers whispered this into my ear

Believe that things like this are real and true

A lover’s dream is happening to you

There you are, Mh! I missed you yesterday, or either I really missed your hubs for yesterday? Anyway, I am glad you are here now. This one was worth the wait, as it is truly exceptionally beautiful. I love that last line especially. But where are your usual awesome photo and video?

Voted up ++++ and sharing

God bless, Faith Reaper

Beautiful! I love this. Consult the flowers. I never thought of that. What a lovely thought.

This is so beautiful Martin, I don't know where you're getting your inspiration lately, but it's nice to see this side. Love it!

Flowers have a way of brightening life. This poem is beautiful and so is the music you chose, Martin.

Passion, as we have come to expect in your poems of romance, speak

through this dream.

You paint a picture of wonder and mystery with your words.

Beautiful work, Martin.

I've heard of the old English custom of 'telling the bees', and I do talk to my flowers (when no one is around), but this poem was beautiful and different from your usual ones, Martin. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

When it comes to flowers, a breezy day is every bit as good as a day without. Long may aroma last.
