If Time Could Stand Still

If time could stand still.

for the most important moments.

So that we could fix them in our minds -

our first love,

the feel, the look,

that wonderful reeling feeling.

If only it could last for more than a second or two.

If time could stand still,

when we realize that love is real -

that moment when we both say I love you.

Holding onto that for longer than time would allow.

If time could stand still,

at the moments which mean the most

Those special times,

when we are together,

when kisses mean so much

and passions smolder.

If time could stand still -

when we spend quiet times ,

just you and I.

Holding hands and silent strolls,

being together for many moments more.

How lovely are the nights spent,

under the stars above -

when we dream of days gone by.

Times we had that were so special,

if only time could stand still.

Just to give us a chance,

to embed it forever in our hearts.

Just so the special times -

wouldn’t disappear in the blink of an eye.

There have been many times when I wish I could freeze-frame time, and say, or do, what I should have.....anyway, you know I love your work.

Or if we could go back in time and relive that moment. Of course we can in our minds, but sometimes it would be nice to experience it one more time. Good work.

Nice poem on a topic most of us wish could come true at certain points in our lives. I can think of a moment right now that I wish I could of just kept a little longer. Life and those special moments are so fleeting.

A work work to think about, Rasma.

Only within our memories time is "standing still'. All is the same while re-living those moments , never fading , renewing our youthfulness and energy. Sighing.

Thank you Missy Smith. So true there are many special moments we would like to last longer.

Thank you Michael. That is so right it is our special memories that give us a chance to relive some of your most treasured moments.

Time and life. Who was it that said, "Doesn't it go by in a blink?" I wish I could remember. Such lovely poetry, Rasma. And so very true. Love that Croce song.

Rasma, so many wonderful memories flashed across my mind's eye as I read this. You took me back and time stood still for just a moment longer.

Thank you.
