Ignored (a poem)
I don't understand
the way you are,
thoughts of yours
foreign to my world.
Fine for you
to walk and roam
everything you do
designed for only one.
Left out of your thoughts
a void consumes my being,
driven away
I forge my own path.
Nothing I can do
no change to come
no notice of my pain
you don't see all of me.
When you finally come back around
I don't feel close
shut out of your life,
an afterthought.
