Poem."Looking Up"

I Lift Up My Eyes

And there I was

looking up,

Not knowing

that which

I saw then,

Here I am again

being treated

in that very same

way a sort of

Paradox.

One that can

only be

compared

to those of

only Biblical

proportions.

I again remember

that saying

as it was in

the beginning.

So shall it

continue.

Go on to be

That same

way in the end

of each .

Depicting

the way he

lived.

Same as it

ever was.

looking up.

I again saw

the same

beautiful picture

As I will always

consider it to be .

The greatest sight

I have ever seen,

being unable then

to give that

special thanks

when I was this

small child

Looking up.

I rest assured

that the smiles

Coming back

at me,

could only have

been

translated to mean

that very same

feeling

that I was

experiencing,

while not

being able

to show my

appreciation

in words .

I am sure this is,

the most appreciated

gesture

that any human

Can sincerely advance

to another.

But I have since

come to understand

that by looking up,

from that position

of humility and admiration,

it have always

presented to me,

the greatest sights ever,

even to this day.

Even when

my mother and father

was not literally there,

Looking up,

presented this picture i

n which they were.

I always see them,

it’s as if the vastness

keeps asking me

to use the emptiness

that’s there

to imagine and paint

my own portrait.

The most amazing thing,

Is that I keep painting

the very same portrait

each time.

I have learn to imagine

the Most High God

as the background

that is represented

in the image of the

painter,

Same as he said

Let us make man

in our own image

and likeness,

The picture

with my mother

and father included,

always made it,

the perfect painting

each time I look to it

I am reminded to say:

That I lift up my eyes

unto the hills

from whence cometh

my strength.

It is undoubtedly

the greatest sight

that I have ever seen

This is wonderfully written & I thoroughly enjoy it! "That I lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my strength." Amen to that! Keep looking up to God. You got my votes!

Thanks you for that spicey comment there , that the alternative is most definitely ignorance. Thanks for reading molometer you simply stirred up an curious bone in me to come over and have a read , and I would . I believe That we would eventually all see "IT" whatever "It" is , but chances are someone have seen it already. But the spiciness will always be. "Not from our eyes"

I can already feel our commonality.

Bless.

What an extraordinary piece of work, I found it compelling and very apt. We should always look up as the alternative is arrogance.

Well written and interesting.
