Lay me down by the sea.....

I will die one day so this might be
considered this my will
You might lay my ashes along the tides
beneath the krill

As they drift out to sea we might watch
as the tides roll in
And the following seas crash violently
against the stearn again

You could leave me where daylight
meets the moon and beyond
Or there where the songs of whales
sound of song

Yes ......or spread my ashes against the
boulders along Peggy's cove
At Lunenburg if you will and make
sure to drop them from above

Oh hell ....I don't know just stand at
the beach and give a throw
If we're lucky enough you'll check which way the
wind does blow

This is beautiful for sure. I love "where daylight meets the moon and beyond," and the verse that follows that as well.

I did not mark funny, but that last verse took me by surprise and I could sense your change of mood, "Oh hell" grabbed me and that wind direction had me laughing.

Nice poem. In the end it doesn't matter does it. It is so weird that my grave is waiting for me, predetermined by others. And when I die, no one will visit them anymore.

I was ready to shed a tear as I began to see loved ones minding your final wishes. I found a smile followed by a chuckle. As I saw a trusted friend/family member with an urn held firmly against their chest with one hand and the other hand in the air checking the wind direction. Enjoyed the buoyancy of this hub.

What a wonderful poem ahorseack.Every line brought out a new emotion , very sad but relieved at the same time that death is not something to be afraid of, but maybe a new beginning into a new life after death. Very well written too, Great job.
