I'm So Wrong, It's Right!

By Tony DeLorger © 2014

In consequence of past mistakes,

I know my hand of wrong relates,

and learned in pain those lessons felt,

that bruised a heart and in balance dealt.

For without these wrongs I'd procreate,

the same daft thoughts with new mistakes,

and stay within these lowly bounds,

where freedom's knell does not resound.

So on bended knee I pray with thanks,

for all the wrongs that caused me angst,

and in my heart I know I've grown,

regardless of all opportunities thrown.

But in my soul a destiny waits,

in quiet repose it patiently aches,

awaiting the universe to clear a path,

and in destined steps on my behalf.

To unleash the power of my brewing force,

the words that destiny has long enforced,

and in flight shall all flow into minds,

all those whose love has tended mine.

And hearts will soar in beauty found,

this life of mystery, this journey profound,

and share I must with all my thoughts,

this miracle of conscious learning taught.

I thank you for this ineptitude,

that used to plague a mind so shrewd,

but now I know what gift its been,

to save a soul of experience gleaned.

I'm so wrong, its right!

Love this one! If it were not for my mistakes and learning a great deal from them, I would not be who I am today. I am sure I will make plenty more along the way. Love your photos of your cat. I have a cat who loves to actually recline in the recliner LOL.

Up and more and away

Blessings always

Good here Tony, I just read my previous comment and noticed a typo in the quote "...the more mistakes we make, the WIDER we become" should read WISER...lol....otherwise I couldn't fit through the doorway.

Thanks John, how are you going? My cat knows right from wrong but makes a choice one way or the other, depending on how he feels. Most of the time, he does exactly what I want, but winges about it. Other times, he ignores what I want completely, and I have to force the issue. Cats are definitely a challenge, but we love'm. Take care mate!

Yes Tony, we have to treat our mistakes as blessings in disguise and actually learning experiences. "We learn from our mistakes, therefore the more mistakes we make the wider we become." I have four cats and I think they know right from wrong, but just don't care. Love the rhyme of this poem too...good stuff.

Much appreciated Ken. I guess we're all a bit thick, having to go through so many lessons for all our mistakes. But its a journey, and as you say, we have to roll with the punches. Thanks for you comment and have a great day!

Thanks MsDora, yes, its not that we get everything wrong, but what we did, can be a gift if we choose to look at it. Thanks for you comment and take care.

My feline is living the good life, he masters his master. I've taken the long road and journeyed hard and long to get to where I've arrived today. Life is full of ups and downs and they say we have to roll with the punches. But how many times do we get knocked down before staying down? Ah life is full of lessons indeed. A brilliant verse to show the many lessons we learn throughout our travel here.

There are so many mistakes we didn't make; there was purpose in those we did. So altogether, it's right. Happy thought!

Tony.......Great Title......enjoyed the poem (hits home) and as for "Beast"...he seems to be a terrific pal! I have an orange tiger, "Tommy2"....just like yours. He's a very unique character. Plays soccer that would make David Beckham jealous!....UP+++

Thank you FlourishAnyway, so glad you enjoyed it. Beast, the cat, is as lovable as anyone can be; he's my shadow, my companion and he rarely talks back...just when its something important. Have a great day!

Absolutely true Phyllis, that's why we have them, cause we need the lessons they bring. That is my belief too. And my 'Beast" is an awesome cat, so laid back and affectionate, and so many lovable antics. Take care.

Tony, I so love this limerick -- and that cat of yours is so awesome!

edit: PS - someone once told me I take the hard road. I told him that "No, I just learn from my mistakes."

That cat of yours is the perfect way to depict this poem. He's livin' it. So wrong it's right. Love the attitude of both the poem and your feline friend.
