In Dreamland All Week
Doing Nothing Became My Instant Routine
For one week I have nowhere to be
You might find me relaxing under an old oak tree
I didn't have to fight the traffic
Instead I turned up the music and caused a small racket
The weather was beautiful no need for a sweatshirt or light jacket
The day starts when I got out of bed no matter how late it is or what the time said
I walked and talked about my dreams that I have loved for so long
Laughing often and setting my mind free
Once in awhile picking up a book or playing with the cat gingerly
Where true happiness is playing chase that rubber mouse or catching that bird outside the window
With no phone calls to make and picking tomatoes is my biggest task
I didn't have to cook or go to any appointments
Some days I stayed in my pajamas till noon
Other times I was dressed but I didn't leave the house
I didn't miss what all my co-workers were busy doing as I had another day of leisure
I watched a little t.v.and then I went from store to store looking but with no interest to buy
Way too lazy to go into my pockets and pay
So there was nothing to carry away
All my troubles were temporarily put on hold until one week has passed
Let other people deal with the problems at work
For I am busy laying in the sun drifting off to a nap
Each day was a private party that danced in my head
One of rest and what other people don't see or feel
Bringing my body to a new relaxed state
If I wanted a snack I got up and poked around each cabnet
There I found things that would fill my craving or desire
Everyday seemed extra long
Each moment I filled with wonderful thoughts and star power
Now approaching the midnight hour
Where all my excitement began over one hundred and sixty eight hours ago
I will try to make one more smile last
Now that was so much fun I wonder why I didn't do it way back when
