In Gratitude i bow my Head

To you, I bow, master of poetry and I say thank you for setting my soul free
To you, I bow, master of poetry and I say thank you for setting my soul free
To you I kneel today humble and in tears Tears of happiness not agony or fears
To you I kneel today humble and in tears Tears of happiness not agony or fears
I shall call upon your power when I feel broken or lost
I shall call upon your power when I feel broken or lost

My heart is beating with every verse you read

My hands no more shake as my heart you freed

Can you tell me what does poetry mean to the broken soul

Can you tell me why I hear music as you read my words whole

The light of my past reflect upon the paper yet tranquility settles

The words sooth the soul and end the eternal self-destructing battles

The holiness of your words makes my soul bow to your grace

It stretches my hope for a better world beyond time and space

The beauty in being able to seduce and give hope

Poetry, the only medicine for those ready to cut the rope

I have been blind and misplaced before a thousand years

Sailing in the dark melancholy of my deadliest fears

Yet when I found you my self-finding journey came to an end

I have learned things about life that I could never comprehend

Saw different sides of my outstanding personality that I never knew they existed

I have ventured through your verses to lands of make belief, some even prohibited

I have learned to acutely look into my unique soul and see the beauty in me

To you, I bow, master of poetry and I say thank you for setting my soul free

I shall call upon your power when I feel broken or lost

To feel your skin linger on my body and melt loneliness’s frost

To you I kneel today humble and in tears

Tears of happiness not agony or fears

Fierce I have become after you took me under your wing

My master of verse I now know how to fly and sing

Life is a continuous battle which leads me through darkness

But you have taught me to have faith and conquer the loneliness

I am gratified by your touching words which break the shackles around my wrists

To you I offer my heart soul and my prayers when life turns and twists

You have made me the person I have always yearned to be

You have made me see the beauty that lies within me

Blessed be your scribe versus and those who write them down

Let the glorious sun shine upon thee soul and turn that night to dawn

This is a superb piece, Uriel! Ahh, completely astounding...there is so much beauty in a soul laid bare in such a way you have. I love it!

Oh my, that first picture just blew me away! It's awesome, then I read the poem...someone must have some magic to move you in such a way. A very moving piece that truly touched me. A freed heart is a mended heart and poetry is in it's own way cathartic. You have come a long way grasshopper. Love and hugs dear one. CC I love it.

invictus, sometimes we don't see the beauty in our soul and often need someone to open up our eyes. Poetry did this to me and many of us. It helped me find who i am and what i want to be.

How flattered am I to be the recipient of this poem lol. Okay maybe it wasn't to me directly but you did say:

My heart is beating with every verse you read

My hands no more shake as my heart you freed

Can you tell me what does poetry mean to the broken soul

Can you tell me why I hear music as you read my words whole

You have personified "Poetry" as a being well appreciated, a respectable figure. Who deeply understands you, who assists you as you write, lending a hand to such creation... I too am a fan of "Poetry" and she has led me to write with so much passion. I see she has done the same for you as well. Loved this poem!

that's another thing in common. We both are the humble servants of poetry and she has showed both of us the beauty of our soul. It keeps me insane and pushes me to do my best and be a SOMEONE. It taught me that everything is possible: dream, work, and sacrifice to reach your goal. Be Great and Proud of what you have made. Poetry is a perfection of life.

you know, Uriel--not only your choice of art for this hub is magnificent; but your words are magnificent as well. You are right--poetry is the voice of the soul. Only a unique few can project these emotions and grasp at what is most certainly important emotionally. Your work here proves that very thing. Magnificent.

You said it all, my heart was so torn, with pain so deep... You said everything I wanted to and didn't know how... Very touching, very needed... Loving, yet real... You touched the inside of your heart before you wrote this...very deep.
