In Repose

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

Nature in repose is the sweetest silence,

filled with the nectar of life,

the divine possibilities of change,

and the perfection of balance in execution.

How gentle the sway of life's pulsing core,

its vibrations radiating outwardly,

like a vast and sustaining heart,

keeping time with each and every moment.

In the gentle silence of contemplation we find peace,

the lilting song of reality soothing to our ears,

without the relentless thoughts of confusion,

given flight by an overzealous will.

In repose we find connection,

a complex yet simple knowing that we are life,

each cell companion to all cells,

and in life a small but integral part of a whole.

How lost we can become in life's furious waves,

the struggle and survival of being,

and the internal war we wage with ourselves,

to be better, wealthier, more powerful.

When all we need is to be.

Bravo, Tony! How right you are. We trip ourselves up time after time trying to frantically control everything when we really need to relax and observe our surroundings. I so enjoy your writing!
