In Stillness, Awaits

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

Eventually life ensues,

despite our attempts at self-destruction,

misguided quests of justified harm,

and the smug self-satisfaction of arrogance.

Despite all ignorance and denial,

humanity endures,

albeit in a state of delusion,

grounded on the ineptitude of gratification.

Hope, like the glimmer of light over a sunrise pond,

entices life to stillness, an ending delayed,

the definitive restoration of balance,

tempting but given scope for change.

We, so enthralled by our own potential,

see not the ways of right,

rather the ways of advantage and greed,

placing ourselves at the causation of conflict.

Sight is never a given,

merely a possibility for those who would embrace truth,

who would delve into darkness to meet that dubious self,

that part of us that is our most primordial beginning.

In the stillness of potential life waits,

hoping for resolution, insight and change,

imploring by example the possibility of harmony,

and the unencumbered being that joy can deliver.

I pray for love and acceptance.

Tony...You inspire me! I have felt somewhat pessimistic of late - and your beautiful words have lifted me! If you can still have hope - and share it in this manner - then all is not lost with the world! Thank you..(tweeting, and please 'friend' me on fb if you'd care to..

A hauntingly poignant reminder that we must be self-aware and realize our actions have an effect.

Great poem; beautiful, complimentary pictures.
