In the Silence of Thought

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

The world is a revelation,

viewed from a restful mind,

a mind of silent perception,

of serene and unencumbered thought.

Too much, we judge,

from sight alone,

from the plethora of remnant experience,

sitting poised at the periphery

of hast and confusion.

Administering will

is accomplished best

from a calm and focused mind,

a mind untapped in source

and alive with creative expression.

Clean thoughts are untouched,

unaffected by past,

and filled with wisdom,

a silent mind the core of truth unfound.

Decisions when made,

benefit best from serene consideration,

without the panic and intensity of life’s complications,

and with the freedom of expectation and possibility.

All this from a chosen path of quiet deliberation,

the stilling of the confused mind.

In the silence of peace,

we find the truth,

and as a consequence, ourselves.

I love this poem and it's so true. Calm, Peace, and quiet minds make better decisions. In my field of mental health there is a similar concept. Don't be reactive but proactive. When your too quick to react you usually screw up. Thx for a inspirational poem.
