Poem: My Shining Star

My shining star
My shining star

In the calm of night

A whisper is heard

My yearn calling me

The direction blurred.

In the dark of night

A ray of hope

It fades and it comes

I pine to grope

Here I see it

Here it’s lost again

It’s up to me to

Quickly grasp it then

Am I afraid?

Is the time not right?

Am I meandering because

The unknown is a fright?

Just clasp the glimmer

It’ll lead you through

The core of your soul

Will take the cue

You’ll reach the deepest

Wish of your heart

You’ll achieve it

But you need a start

Have faith in the first few

Steps that you take

Have a steady traipse

Your fate you make

When the sky is black

And you see the shining star

You want to reach it

But it seems so very far

Just you keep

Looking at it

Continue your actions

Bit by bit

Don’t panic

By the mountain in front

Take a step

Give a solid grunt

Every single tread

Is towards your dream

The delight it gives

Your path will gleam

Don’t look away

That’s your direction

No hurdles you can see

And you'll get no reaction

My bright star

Just winked at me

Teasing me

Very blithely

I need to go

Be with it

Find my spot over

The world so lit

Here I take my step

I’ll be there soon

My innate desire will

Be my paramount boon!

Beautifully written, I'd say. Much better than anything I could do.
