Infectious Laughter: Is There a Cure?
We have all seen this before. Someone starts to laugh and it starts to spread like wildfire. More and more I see it, like an infection on people. But is there a cure? I hope not because this cranky old world could use a huge infection of laughter. Just think if everyone was infected with the laughter bug what a happy society we could have.
"Vote for me, because I am really funny!" Would that be a great campaign slogan or what? I just might vote for someone who was funny. but still able to run the country effectively. A little less drama might bring us good karma if we would all learn not to take life so seriously. After all, life is too short to be angry all the time. I even find myself cursing at my fellow humans for no real reason other than they did something that was really unimportant like not using their turn signal, driving slower than I would like them to, even though I don't really need to be bombing along.
I need to be infected with laughter- it makes my day happier. Just hearing my children laugh fills me with joy. I'm smiling right now just thinking about that beautiful sound. I hope that I can spread the infection to others more often than I have been. We all need to be sick with laughter, love, forgiveness, and kindness toward our fellow human beings. Sometimes spreading the laughter will make someone's day or even just a smile to say it can't be all bad.
So, if you or someone you know is living with this affliction, don't bring them down. Ask them to tell you what is so funny so that you too can be infected with laughter. Rub your friends' and family members' funny bones and try to bring a smile to their faces! Sometimes a smile or a laugh can make your day, so try to do it at least once a day! This world has become a very serious place, and yes, it too has its time. But for now, right now at this very moment, find someone you love or at least like a little and spread the infection. Laughter probably had a hand in creating everyone of us!
