Inspired by THE ODYSSEY

Hear me out muse, of the grey eyes as I pour down my heart

And let me tell the story of Odysseus of Ithaca from the start

Swiftly he with a fragile body was thrown here and there

Yet fate promises no homecoming no mercy to spare

And as he angered the Gods of Olympos in the skies

Poseidon promises him a life drenched in pain and sighs

He the earthquaker and lord of the dark see has spoken

And Odysseus was destined to wander victorous yet broken

And Poseidon cast his curse promising to avenge his son

You, Odysseus ,no homecoming, the wheels have been spun

For years, you will spin around yourself in endless circles

And Poseidon promises no mercy yet Athene works miracles

And though your wife lost her love to the depths of an ocean

She remians faithful with her heart and soul and sincere devotion

No way to look back as life casts you to wander

Yet, her lost breath dies out as the dark claims you even longer

My tears and hers cry oceans so why don’t you come back

To Penelope who misses your eyes holding hers staring back

And as death’s claws try to claim your unbroken soul

I beg you to cling to life, so hear out my desperate call

Odysseus, who the world trembles beneath your feet

Let my heart guide your feet and soul, don’t retreat

Awesome topic and awesome pictures. The Odyssey is such a great, epic tale.

I like this, but I recommend a more careful spell check before posting. Drenched is misspelled and heart on the last line.

Ah, the pain of longing wife. I remember the wife's side story. It is so sad, yet really beautiful. Make me wonder, can we stay as faithful as her when we become a wife ourselves? ^^

Beautiful, dear. alike always. :X
