Introducing: The Little Laughing Yogini by Brittney Hiller

Brittney was kind enough to update me on what is happening with the Little Laughing Yogini and as you will see, yoga is on the move (no pun intended :D ).

Brittney reports that she has created Yoga PlayShops ...this is an event that brings yoga into elementary schools. It provides the opportunity for children who may not have the opportunity to experience yoga to do so.

She opens with a reading of the Little Laughing Yogini which is a segway to yoga. The children are captivated and enthusiastic as they participate.

If you would like to help support her efforts you can go to the link provided in this hub.

Brittney~~Reading The Little Laughing Yogini

A delightful little book is now available to brighten the day of anyone who picks up a copy.

The Little Laughing Yogini offers a glimpse at finding real joy and it opens our eyes to the possibilities of yoga.

A young yogini searches for bliss with a new friend....as you turn the pages of Brittney's book, you will discover what happens.

This book will become one your whole family will enjoy. And like me, you may become inspired to give yoga a try.

Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one’s being, from bodily health to self-realization. Yoga means union—the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one’s actions.

— B.K.S. Iyengar

What is a yogini?

A yowhatini? That is what I thought...so obviously I had not been practicing yoga or even knew terms associated with it.

A yogini~~~ "A female yoga practictioner" ....from the Sanskrit...yogini..feminine derivative of yogin, yogi

She exudes J O Y....

Who is Brittney and What is She All About....

Brittney is someone who makes every day brand new. She is overflowing with joy and seems to believe that laughter is THE answer.

Reading her writings and watching the videos she has online will lead you to the same conclusion....she is someone who will help you find the laughing out-loud kind of fun that turns around a possibly gloomy day into one filled with sunshine even when clouds are abundant.

She is a licensed massage therapist and experienced as a yoga teacher. She is trained in power yoga, children's yoga, and laughter yoga.

She leads you to move well beyond your expectations of yourself as you move to a happier, healthier way of living.

"Brittney has written for mindbodygreen, elephant journal, The Island News, and has been featured on Girl Talk, North of The Broad, and Women's Wellness Radio."

Watching her videos will give you a real sense that Brittney is in love with life and wishes to lead each of us to that feeling.

My Journey with the Little Laughing Yogini and Brittney

My connection to yoga has been only a passing one over the years. I knew (I thought I knew) what it was but had never given it a try.

When I saw that Brittney had written this adorable book with something about yoga in the title, I was intrigued and began to explore. I looked on Vimeo and Youtube in search of her videos so that I might get a glimpse into the world of yoga.

Because of her charisma, I was hooked. I am not 12 any longer so some of the positions I will not use but there are many that I have begun to try, not the least of which is laughter yoga.

My journey has just begun into practicing yoga but am finding it is a most welcome addition to my day. It is so much more than positions and exercise...it is a way for me to lose myself from the distractors of life and find inner joy and peace that may have been missing.

A sense of humor... is needed armor. Joy in one's heart and some laughter on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.

— Hugh Sidey

My Very Own Copy of This Adorable Book

The Little LaughingYogini

Brittney includes a few yoga techniques that were totally foreign to me in her book. And that was a good thing...she left questions unanswered which forced me to go in search of the answer.

For instance, the characters clapped 1, 2, 1, 2, 3 and while that may have been just part of the story, I suspected there was more to it than was evident at first. And the characters laughed together. And again, it caused me to wonder about how this connected to yoga perhaps on another level. (Go find the answers for yourself if you do not know; you will be glad you did.)

As I looked for my answers, I became more and more enchanted and knew this would be a new healing, uplifting part of my life.

You can find this book on Amazon ....it would be a lovely way to help children become interested in yoga and all that it offers.

One Day I MAY Have Been Able to Do This!!!

Go Find Your Bliss

Snuggle up with your loved ones and read The Little Laughing Yogini with them. You may find all of you begin yoga together.

It has been my pleasure to write this hub as I connected with a family member I have not seen in person since she was about 15ish. Brttney is my great-niece.

So having the opportunity to share her book and a bit about her with you is delightful. I feel as if I know her a bit by communicating with her on Facebook, in emails, and by watching her videos.

Take some time to watch some of her videos...her energy and vivaciousness will give you a renewed sense of new possibilities as you make your way through each day.

To be happy--one must find one's bliss.

We have a senior center not too far from where we live and the classes are free to anyone living in this county and who is 55 years of age or older. Just yesterday for the first time my husband and I attended a laughter yoga class and it was due to reading this article of yours and watching the video. I really enjoyed it and plan to take more of the classes in the future.

So thank you once again for writing this article and introducing the subject to me. Sending wishes of many blessings your way. Will once again share and give it a tweet and also pin.

Hi Peggy

When I saw how much fun the laughter yoga is and realize how much I like to laugh, I knew I would have to use it from time to time.

I have begun to use the 'quieter' yoga for a time to gather my thoughts and ready myself for new days.

And to you I send blessings and hugs and hope you are surviving the heat in Texas this summer.

Loved watching the video and I found myself smiling and can easily see how one would be laughing if participating in a group such as that. Brittney appears to be a delightful and fun person to know. Thanks for introducing her as well as her book and the subject of laughter yoga. Happy to share this with others and will also pin.

Wishing you many blessings as you go through your days. Love and hugs, Peggy

That little laughing yogini is so cute. I just want to hug her. And, I'm getting up there in age, so I might as well admit that I am fairly sure I'll never be able to do THAT yoga position ever again. What a delight it has been learning about this inspirational form of yoga.

I laughed with Brittney as I watched the video. Laughter is the best medicine in the whole wide world. A day without laughter is a day lost. I truly believe that. I started doing yoga about ten years ago. I can not do the ones that stretch the back muscles too much. ( Herniated disk ) but the stretching of the arms and legs relieve stiffness throughout the body. Thank you for a well written hub. Voted up and useful. Many blessings to you....

Hi Pat, I never heard of Brittney but I watched some of the video and was impressed. She really loves what she is doing. At first I thought the books were just for children but I realized after that they are not. Yoga isn't for me, because of all the arthritis and different parts I have, but I think it would be good for my girls. I will be telling them about laughing yogini. Thanks for sharing. I voted up and useful.

Blessings to you.
