Is This Love That I'm Feeling? A Poem

I like to express myself through poetry. Many times in the past I wrote quickly and without editing and sometimes it was a hit out of the park and sometimes a strikeout.

I believe in relationships that involve intimacy between a man and a woman that it takes time to lay a foundation for a healthy future.

I found a rose

outside my door

right after I hung up

with you on the phone

Lately things have been platonic

But when you're ready

They can and will twist

To intoxicating

As only you know how

but for now

We will regain our footing

Is this love that I'm feeling

or should I be reeling with emotion

Does true devotion require oooo's and ahhhs

No, I think not

It's the knowledge of your pure intention

in the heart

the feeling you had never wanted to part

the twist and resistance to let them go

wanting them to stay

Oh happy day

will it be

when the times comes

to place your lips upon mine

In sweet taste of wine divine

Emotions building

Intense and longing

Bursting forth

Oh it will be like a dam bursting

Be ready!

Anticipation of love is always a powerful emotion.

Hi Wayne,

I didn't hurry , no. But I never spend a lot of time unless I'm doing limericks or if it involves iambic pentameter. It's either good or not. :)
