It Takes More Than Blue Eyes

It takes more than blue eyes for her to be your girl
She needs more than those tight fitting jeans
She wants a man who’s heart is open and kind
She wants your love, not just some movie scenes

You caught her eye from across a crowded room
You thought you had her but now she’s looking away
You’re tryin’ to get her to open the curtains again
But you’re not the only guy she looked at today

You got your baby blues
And your blue jeans too
So now whatcha’ gonna’ do?
She saw you standing there
And all you did was stare
So now whatcha’ gonna’ do?

Her favorite color is blue
But not if that’s how you make her feel
You know she likes the way you look
But the cover of a book is not very real

You told her she was beautiful
She smiled but she’d heard it before
You said you're ready to settle down
But that's what the last guy swore

You got your baby blues
And your blue jeans too
So now whatcha’ gonna’ do?
She saw you standing there
And caught you in a stare
So now whatcha’ gonna’ do?

Very nice work mr poet :-) It has a real lyrical quality, i think you could set this one to music, can you play the guitar?

Very nice flow, and beautiful poem. It has the rhythm.... And it sure does take more than just blue eyes :)

Voting up and beautiful.
