It's True...a poem of gratitude

Transfixed by your loving heart,
I cannot dare to imagine life without you,
each breath shallow with anticipation,
awaiting our times together.
However short, each moment is poised,
at the edge of my hopes, my dreams alight,
within the power of love, a nurtured soul,
by your side, in the joy of being.
Apart we are half of us,
each a remnant of possibility,
each missing the beauty of union,
and the perfection of what love can transform.
Together we are right, at peace,
despite an unrelenting world at the door, we cling,
each knowing the other is protected,
each feeling the warmth of a caring soul.
What depths can a love achieve,
when all is as it should be,
not created but existing within its own bounds,
forging its own path.
When I question what we have,
I am reminded what life was without you,
and I am humbled to have found you,
my other half, my sweet and loving partner.
