Just One Word

My last words
Are not like the first
Ones that I have heard
Asking me always
To edit the ways
The words in my head
Are recited inside me
Softer or harder
Than soothing they were
To become censored
By that voice overhead
Something that was said
Must be rewritten instead
Of the way it was intended
When first put down
Now I have nothing
Only one word
