Just Sitting On The Wall That's All
I Am Catching A Cool Breeze
As I watch life around me
Fascinating as it may be
I feel like I am going to sneeze but it escapes me
I am just sitting on this wall made of old rock and stone
That has been standing straight for years silent and alone
I come here to enjoy life from the view
Not too high up not too low either
Just perfect where I can lift my feet off the ground
I can dangle them back and forth without a care
I can hum or whistle
I can hear the birds chirp as if I was one of them
I can see a chipmunk make his way up along the walls edge
Only to disappear then to reappear one more time later
Butterflies on occasion will pass by
There is a sound of a car I can hear in a distance but when or if it will come my way I only patiently wait
I see the sun shine bright
I see the rain hit so light almost as if in slow motion
I wait to see if you will walk my way
Then we can sit together and share what I learned here today
Occasionally a bug will pester me with it's power
For I know it is only looking for a flower
So I just sit here and listen to the story in my mind unfold
How a young boy grew up to become so old
He not only loves life but all the people in it
Each persons experiences so thrilling like a new best selling novel that just hit the book shelves
I can't wait to read and here the words play over and over in my head
They dance from place to place without a care
Because I know one thing for certain
This wall has been here for years and has seen so much
If I listen long enough
It may share it's beauty with one simple touch
