63 "Just Two Silhouettes on a Bridge"

Warms hearts in the cold.

Here we are, standing on a bridge,

It is so cold out, it feels like a fridge.

Snow flakes drift down, land on your face,

Nothing could be warmer than your embrace.

The floating snowflakes reflect the street light,

As though glitter was falling in the night.

There was no one on the late night street,

Only I was enjoying this sight, this treat.

Our kisses were so sweet and so warm,

It was a wonder there was no fire alarm.

You lifted your face for another kiss,

I could only stare, this was a moment not to miss.

I will treasure this moment for life,

As I will cherish every moment with you as my wife.

One day we will become one and the same,

It will be a picture worthy of a beautiful frame.

As we are standing on this bridge covered in snow,

Holding you in my arms only makes my love grow.

I love you heart and soul more every day,

I just can’t imagine any other way.

Greg

HI Gregas

nice poem, good verse structure, which allows for an easy read. I think bridges are interesting and curious things, they are used as a symbol like holding out your hand to someone. They can cross far more than rivers and railways, like gulfs in relationships and between nations, and they are always good to meet on.

cheers Tony

gregas profile image

gregas 4 years ago from Corona, California. Author

Hi Tony, Thank you. I too like bridges and feel they can span many relationships. I have also learned, early in life, not to burn bridges because you bay have to walk back across them at some point in your life. Greg
