Just one day in a forever.......

From where do they come .......
the priceless hours
There are only so many hours in a life
I know
After all
Are emotions just a human plague
a curse on mankind
An open wound on the flesh of forever
I know....impulse control
Throw you head back and scream to
the gods .....or none
It is of no matter
or all matter
It is of the curse of self
and selfishness
It is the bane of all time
and no tiime at all
it is just life
And life goes on as
another baby dies in her mothers arms
A boy lies bleeding on the hard
paved streets of gold
We will get past this
Just one day in a forever.......

Another heartbreaking poem. I see death all around me, I cry for those left behind and for those gone too soon!

Leni Sands, thank you , That is horrible , and we need to redirect our resources to aid them, instead of space , instead of Iraq, Iran. Sometimes I wonder how the "cradle of man" can still be so raw and violent....:-}

Some days my heart feels like it just cannot endure one more sadness. Yet somehow the future beacons and I see the brightness over the horizon. Your poetry helps me to see and feel the truth, the painful and the joy. Hyph

I must admit, there's not a lot of good events to look at these days, but i believe in goodness, and it outshines the darkness. When i start to get down, i think of people who risk their lives everyday to help feed the needy in dangerous parts of the world, the people who donate their time at rescue missions, the people who give money. These are not news worthy people so we don't read about them, so be full of cheer, the good outweighs the bad, we just have to believe. Cheers my friend.

Wonderfully profound poem. Death is the ultimate scourge of mankind. When i worked for hospice and dealt with dying older patients on a daily basis, i used to tell them that we, as a society, somehow falsely learned that death was a bad thing. It should be observed as a celebration of ones life, and the ultimate step into another realm. Like a caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly. Our spirit is energy and energy cannot be destroyed, only transfered.

But, when a child dies, this is the ultimate sadness and defies explanation. Although i have my own theories as to why, it does not diminish the pain and loss to those left behind.
