Know Which Way The Wind Is Blowing

Know Which Way The Wind Is Blowing

Before you begin,

That epic solo ride,

You might should take,

A few steps outside.

Heed my insistence,

Before you plot your distance,

Try to get a sense,

For that unseen resistance.

One blustering wind,

Or surprising gale,

Can rock your boat,

Or rip your sail.

If you need to take advantage,

Of the tiniest spark,

Or you if you’re aiming,

To hit your mark,

If you’re entertaining romance,

And heeding desire,

Playing with matches,

And starting a fire,

You might know the terrain,

And see the rain,

But you should weigh the gain,

Against the pain.

Consider all the variables,

Take special care,

Wet the proverbial finger,

And stick it in the air.

Before your fuel is added,

And the first ember is glowing,

Make sure you know,

Which way the wind is blowing.

Urinating In The Wind

You may know the latest trend,

See through a politician’s spin,

Don’t assume what’s around the bend,

And never urinate in the wind!

You may be true to the bitter end.

Take a hint from one who’s been.

Don’t take a road of sin.

And never urinate in the wind.

Wiser words were never written, Micky. Especially in today's dangerous political climate.
